Welcome to Family Eye Care

At Family Eye Care, Dr. Troy Currier provides medical and routine vision examinations for adults and children. Our eye doctors specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the eye and provide well vision exams. Treatments may include prescription of medicine, glasses, or contact lenses.

Regular eye examinations are an important part of your preventive health care. Children should have their first eye exam at 6 months of age, again at age 3 and every year into adulthood. The simple vision screening provided by your pediatrician may not detect all eye issues, and early detection is vital. Eye disease and vision issues are far more easily corrected prior to age 9, the age at which the brain has developed completely.

Rubbing your eyes, squinting, headaches, changes in vision or difficulty with focusing within arm’s length are indicators to visit your optometrist. For those who wear contact lenses our optometrists recommend annual exams. Vision exams are recommended every two years for adults until age 60 unless you have health issues which require more frequent visits. After age 60, annual exams are generally recommended.

Family Eye Care has always been committed to the health and safety of our patients, our staff and our community. At this time, we are following Governor Reynolds recommendations and opening our clinic on an APPOINTMENT ONLY basis. Please contact our office at 712-263-5654 to schedule an appointment for all visits. This includes not only exams, but also eyewear adjustments, glasses or contact lens pick-ups.

We appreciate your patience as we will continue to follow CDC guidelines for social distancing. We will be working on a limited schedule to allow for disinfecting between patients.

• EVERY person entering our office will have their temperature checked and will need to answer a series of questions. If you’ve had symptoms of cough or fever within the past 14 days or if you have been exposed to COVID-19, we ask that you call in to reschedule your appointment.

• EVERY person will be required to wear a mask. Please wear one into the office.

• Only the scheduled patient will be allowed in the office. Exceptions to this are:

A minor patient may be accompanied by one parent/guardian.

A caregiver if necessary, for example patients with dementia

• We ask that any “driver” remain in the vehicle if they do not meet the above criteria.

If you have glasses or contacts here that are ready to be picked up, we would gladly mail them or as stated above, you must have an appointment to pick up. Please contact our office at 712-263-5654.

Dr. Currier would like to remind everyone to limit social activity as much as possible and hopes that everyone stays healthy and safe. Thank you for understanding during this uncertain time. Stay well!
